The central scene depicts two birds among grasses and flowering plants, with delicate details extending into the surrounding landscape. The scene is framed by panels of floral decoration, geometric latticework and stylised motifs, creating a wonderfully layered composition.

The palette combines cobalt blue, iron-red, green, yellow and soft turquoise enamels, characteristic of polychrome Iroe decoration. The deep cobalt-blue border provides a striking contrast to the lighter, finely painted central scene.
